An experience hosted for individuals traveling to Atlanta for AfroPunk October 2018.

“Just imagine #GraceJones, #Prince, and #ErykahBadu metamorphosing into one individual.”

In the rise of experimental #travel, individuals seek curated, non self-involving, well organized #itineraries. My goal was to create a seamless and unique experience for those individuals traveling to #Atlanta for the #AfropunkFestival October 2018. That goal was well exceeded when twelve individuals from different regions of the country took delight in the company of complete strangers and confided in my experimental project.

We kicked off the #weekend with a meet and greet on the porch of our vintage, picturesque, spacious #Airbnb. After a couple of rounds of Afro Punch, we then piled into our private shuttle to head to dinner. Dinner was hosted in a private room of a popular West Midtown Eatery.

The space was perfect for an intimate group of twelve. The #food was phenomenal, service was attentive, and the party playlist was just the thing to initiate #lituations and connections amongst the group. We continued our turn up at Atlanta's favorite underground #danceclub, making the introductory night one for the books!

If you must know one thing about #Afropunk, it's the #FASHION! Afropunk hosts the most #stylish, fashion forward, unique #festival goers than any other festival on the planet (in my opinion). Just imagine #GraceJones, #Prince, and #ErykahBadu metamorphosing into one individual. Literally, this is  the unannounced theme of attire for the festival, which is why I hired the exotic, brilliant ###MUA Raychelle Calvey to provide each guest a one-on-one beauty session. Capturing each guest as they transformed into their Afropunk looks, was just as important, which is why I hired my favorite local #photographer Rebecca Noble. After an amazing catered lunch, we departed for Day One of the festival.

Day Two began with a much needed #yoga and #meditation session led by my favorite zen-tologist Barbara Taylor. Following yoga, we enjoyed an amazing #Caribbean-Themed catered #brunch by Mindfull Nourishment Services! "Amazing" actually falls short of how delicious and fulfilling this brunch was. It was just the cure to rejuvenate and refuel us for Day Two of the festival. Day Two's  lineup (#Kaytranada, #TheInternet, #Joi, #PushaT, #Noname, #LittleSimz, #KariFaux and more) had the gang LIT from entry to departure. We danced our butts off and continued the party at #BonfireATL later that night.

The AFROPUNK X #COCOCAM Experience was truly a success. This packaged experience included #transportation, lodging, meals, weekend tickets to the festival, and entertainment. My goal was to expose the group of travelers to the best of Atlanta #culture as well as introduce them to the local artistry first hand. And I did just that. I exceeded my participants' expectations as well as my own!

A special thanks to my volunteers, donors, sponsors, supporters, promoters, artists, participants, and all the #Cocobeans involved in this project. I couldn't have done it without you guys!

Please enjoy these special moments captured by Rebecca Noble and testimonials from the participants below!

Avianca Crane 10/18/2018 "My expectations for the weekend were exceeded. I really just thought it was going to be a group of randos sharing a house and going to a festival. I couldn’t of been more WRONG !! The fact we shared a house with people from all over gave us the opportunity to mix, mingle, and network. The entire COCO-CAM team was amazing. Everyone was so talented and passionate about their crafts.I’ll definitely book a COCO-CAM experience again! I heard about this experience from my friend that went as well. What sealed the deal for me honestly was the opportunity to get your make up done, and snag an “Insta worthy “ photo. I would love if COCO-CAM could host an experience for COACHELLA !!!"

Brittany Cooper-Castro 10/17/2018 "I love all things festive so the entire experience was definitely my idea of a good time, and that it was! I feel the best selling points were the accommodations and only having to book a flight. I loved having a driver so I didn't have to worry about getting a rental or uber/lyft. The MUA, photographer and chef were also great selling points. I'm into yoga so that was an added bonus as well. The yoga session was inserted into the itinerary at the perfect time. I enjoyed it! I would love if COCO-CAM would host the next experience anywhere with a beach and warm weather!"
